Join us for an Epic day on our premium vessels, with our legendary skippers, Capt Owen and Capt Alex, chasing Yellowtail Kingfish and anything big that pulls string!
A full day on the water meeting at the Main Wharf on The Esplanade in Whitianga at 6.30am and departing at 7am. We return to the same point around 3.30pm.
We normally spend the first hour or so gathering live bait (livies), this is often good fun to get the trip started. We do also stock a range of the best catch jigs, which we use when the ‘livies’ aren’t biting.
Once we have a tank full of livies, you will motor out to any of our favorite deep-water locations. Your skipper will use state of the art electronics and local knowledge to put you on the fish. THEN HOLD ON…
Our skippers are intensely focused on big results and creating a wicked trip experience, with over 15 years of iconic fishing history. Our Whitianga boats are customised and set up for one job alone - to catch big fish! The fleet is equipped with the latest technology operated by our experienced skippers.
Any angler of any skill level can get amongst the action and will be well looked after on the trip. The minimum number of anglers for a charter to proceed is 3.

Epic can now offer deep drops and off shore fishing options with Capt Stacky and his vessell Stack Attack, fitted out and licensed to access the deep water spots.
Options include:
Trolling for Marlin Tuna
Daytime Swordfish
Deep dropping for Blue Nose Hapuka Bass
Bookings are essential, the days are longer and the distance covered is greater, so the fee is higher than a standard Kingfish trip.

To help protect our fantastic fisheries, Epic Adventures have a strict 1 Kingfish kept per person policy (don’t worry 1 Kingfish is a lot of meat)
While filleting is not part of our service, Blinks Smokehouse offer this service. If organised earlier they will meet you at the wharf.

Yes, Blinks Smokehouse will smoke your fish for you and provide an awesome service.
With the fish smoked, you are normally able to take your catch back overseas if you are a visitor to NZ.
